Arnesen (1966) has composed chamber music for strings, sinfonietta, wind and chamber ensembles, piano, big band and symphonic band. His clarinet quintet Clarimorphose (1991) has been performed several times in Norway, and also in Lithuania and Los Angeles. His march for symphonic band, Annis Aureus Norwegicus, (published Norsk Musikkforlag AS, 2014) was composed for the 200-years anniversary of the Norwegian constitution. Arnesens work Mindoro Oriente for Harpsichord was released December 2016 on the album Architectures, RMN Music, London, with Eloise Ameruoso, Italy, as the performer on harpsichord. His chamber works 7 Fragments for Pierrot Ensemble and Piano Accepted for Sinfonietta was released on Ablaze Records Pierrot Ensemble Series vol. 1 and Sinfonietta Series vol. 1, with performers from Brno Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Republic. Piano Accepted had its first performance in October 2016 in Sydney, Australia, with Sydney Contemporary Orchestra at the Contemporary Music Festival 2016. In 2019 Eternes Friesés was released on Pierrot Ensemble Series vol. 1. And in 2020 to small piano pieces, Il Decimo Friesé and Waltze Friesé was released on In Focus 2, RMN Music, performed by Fernando Crus (Spain). The piano works, Canzone Angelica and Printemps, also recorded by Fernando Cruz, will be released fall 2021 on the Album In Focus 5, RMN Music. Arnesen is closely connected to the norwegian Pierrot-ensemble Ensemble KammerKlang. He also play bass and compose music for Giuffre Memorial TRIO.
